• 1.2% saline solution (18 g NaCl per 1500 mL water)*
• Pond water (800 μL pond water stock per 1500 mL water)*
• Blender*
• Spatula
• Syringe
• 15 mL conical tubes
• Ice bucket
• CBSS
• 1000 mL volumetric flasks (2 for 20–25 livers, 4 for 40+ livers)
• Dry ice
• 2000 mL beaker
• Dissecting scissors and forceps
• 250 mL centrifuge bottles*
• Fire-polished glass pipettes
• 70% EtOH

Pen/strep should be made ahead of time and stored at -20°C; thaw prior to use. This P/S stock is different from what is typically used for media and cell culture.

1. Add 1.5 mL pen/strep to the saline solution. Decant ~300 mL into a beaker.
